西湖 – 浙江,杭州
Considering the amount of photos of Hangzhou I want to show you guys, I thought I would split this trip into two posts so this post is dedicated to West Lake.
Boy oh boy, Hangzhou in February was absolutely freezing and I can painfully remember my fingers were in pain from the cold (not exaggerating) even though I was wore two layers of gloves. But anyways, was it worth it for the following pictures I have captured? Probably, maybe.
Honestly, I didn’t know much about Hangzhou, I’d just thought I’d stop by as it wasn’t too far from Shanghai. Having spent 5 full days there and I must admit, it was a bit too long due to the snow and cold weather (like, am I even British if I don’t complain or talk about the weather?). I did enjoy my stay but I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was warmer.
I must have walked around West Lake every day as there were a lot of different routes from it to various attractions nearby. Plus, I got to see it at different times of the day, except for sunrise. It was the perfect photo opportunity. I will need to make another trip to see it in the Spring and Summer when there are blossoms, just nature blooming everywhere. However, I have heard it does get overcrowded on nice days. I can see why.
