I remember trying the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair when it bloomed years ago but it turned out to be way too light for me and haven’t touched it since nor tried the other shades until back in August last year. I had decided to give it another shot. The two shades I have in this post is Cool Medium and Warm Medium.
Now where do I begin?
The first thing I had noticed was how much it has oxidised on my hand and that was when I had realised that the two medium shades were too dark for me. I threw warm medium in the bin right away. I was hoping to use the cool medium to counteract my dark circles but in the end, I haven’t actually used it since I had purchased it until a few days ago. The shade wasn’t quite right and it didn’t really do much. It did help a little bit but it didn’t look natural.
I did purchase the shade Fair a few days after purchasing the two medium. This seems to suit my skin colour more after it had oxidised. I have used it under my eyes a few times but I wouldn’t say that it is a favourite of mine. It works better when I use a beauty blender to blend it out to make it feel a little less heavy under the eyes therefore the coverage is more medium I would say. It can be buildable but it will look cakey regardless of where you use it. Concealing spots is a hit and miss for me. This formula will accentuate any dry flakes you may have so for dry skin, this is a no no.
It’s quite thick and many people do not like thick concealers under the eyes. You do have to work fast to blend it out as it does dry quick but it stays put on me all day. Weirdly enough, right now, I’m not too fussed about this packaging, I’m more focused on the formula and performance of this. I would give this a 3.5/5. For less than £5, it’s not too shabby. Shame about the limited shade range.
Have you tried this concealer before?
Oh what a shame you didn’t feel like this was a good concealer. I have to admit I really need something for my bags but I think I’ll give this one a miss.
Sorry to hear that this didnt turn out as you liked. I would recommend LA Pro they are so affordable and have different shades which is always so blendable.
I have this concealer and I absolutely love it. I’ve got the perfect colour match though which makes a huge difference x
I’ve never tried this concealer before, but truth be told, it’s not something I ever wear. Looks like a great colour though, for my redhead complexion.
I saw lasting perfection once before, it caught my attention but I did not buy it. Thanks for the review, now I am planning to buy one.
I used to use this and always found it good – what a shame your experience wasn’t the same.x
I don’t use concealers as I use minimal make-up but really did enjoy reading your post. How unfortunate though that you did not like the product. Hopefully you will find another that will suit your skin tone.
Wow it looks like you didn’t do too well with this concealer. It’s a shame even the cool wasn’t quite right I thought when you mentioned it you were going t say it was good. I suppose for the price isn’t too bad though.
That’s a shame you’re not a fan of this concealer – it’s one of my absolute favourites! x
I love my concealer, hides a multitude of sins LOL
I actually prefer this concealer over all the others. However, I’m really fair skinned. I also mix a little jojojba oil in with it otherwise I find it goes cakey under my eyes after a couple of hours. It’s a shame it doesn’t seem to work as well for you 🙂
Louise x
That’s a shame that you didn’t have a great experience with it. I really need to find a good concealer.
