15TH-21ST AUG

Warning: image heavy.

Now here’s part 2 to my Taipei trip, 19th – 21st August. We had visited the following (shopping and cafes excluded):

Longshan Temple
Taipei 101
Xiangshan (Elephant Mountain)
Guangzhou Street Night Market
Wuzhou Street Night Market
Huaxi Night Market
Shilin Night Market
Ningxia Night Market

Taipei 101 and Elephant Mountain was probably the highlight of my trip. Seeing breathtaking, spectacular views of the city, both during the day and night, is always favourite of mine. Climbing a rock at the top of Elephant Mountain was interesting! I didn’t think that I would actually climb a rock to get the best view of the city in the evening so had decided to wear a t-shirt dress. That didn’t stop me though. I’d do whatever it takes to get the best view! Not one of the best moments but it was worth it.

So, 5 markets? We had visited 3 of them, one after another and we didn’t realise. Guangzhou Street, Wuzhou Street and Huaxi Night Markets are within the same area, literally walking distance from one another. Shilin Night Market again? Why not! It is the largest and most famous night market in Taipei. This time, we had tried a lot more food. We had even queued up for the well known black pepper pork bun.

One of of the days, we had dedicated it to go eat at cafes we each wanted to go and to explore the surrounding area these were located at. My sister, bestie and myself each picked a place we wanted to go eat and had spread it over the course of the day. Unfortunately, my bestie didn’t feel well so she headed back to the hotel whilst my sister and I decided to properly look at the shops and eat.

Enough babbling, more photos!

We did constantly walk all day everyday and didn’t stop much to rest. This was my doing as I’m the type who likes to make the most out of my days and go explore. I’m not sure if my sister and bestie deep down regretted coming on holiday with me now!

There is so much to do, see and eat and one week wasn’t enough, well technically 5 days because of our flight times. I need to go again but maybe not in August as it was over 33 degrees C every day. April – June would be ideal for me and definitely would go for longer to explore the ins and outs and the hidden treasures. Here are more places that I need to go and visit:

Tamsui
Beitou Hot Spring and Geothermal Valley
Jiufen
Pingxi
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
Bopiliao Old Street
National Palace Museum
All the night markets
Taipei Expo Park
The Grand Hotel
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park
Core Pacific City
Maokong Gondola
Golden Waterfall
Yangmingshan National Park
Zishan Cultural and Ecological Park
and many more!
