Essie Nail Polish in Fishnet Stockings

SPICY, DARK, CREAMY RED

It’s hard for my camera to pick up red shades and I’ve tried to manipulate the photo to get the shade as close to real life as I can. This is the best I can get. In real life, it is how Essie describes it “spicy, dark, creamy red”. It is a lovely deep, berry, blood red, similar to the Rimmel Kate 107 lipstick with a tad blue, neutral undertone so it is purely red without any orange or pinks. Best description I could give. This is like a glamorous red, not bright, not too dark without looking tacky and cheap as many red do. Looks classy like the 1940s and feels feminine. This will suit all skin tones.

This is my first Essie nail polish and had picked it up int he 3 for 2 offer at Boots a while back. Why have I not used them before?! Must admit, first time using it, I had applied it on my toe nails and it chipped after a day or two. But it lasted longer on my fingernails. This is the perfect autumn shade and I’d still wear it in the summer which I am doing now. This applies nicely and isn’t streaky. Good consistency in terms of not runny and not too thin. Am impressed after the first coat. I’d say 85% opaque. I could just use one coat and I’d be happy with it. Two coats is needed to get the full opacity. It has a nice gloss to it without using a topcoat. Lasted a good 4 days before it started to chip

Totally recommend this shade if you’re look for a deep red ready for autumn or now!
